I was searching, and I can't find much....

there is a buzzer that when I put it in drive, buzzes, goes off. at least that is what it used to do, and what I think it is supposed to do. from what i can read, maybe it is the buzzer to make sure I set air to travel??

prior to my new transmission, it generally went off when I selected D, and was not a problem. it would buzz occasionally when I Drove, but generally pushing forward on the gear shift lever always shut it off. was not a bother.

Now with my new transmitter, if I had a pistol in hand, I think I would of shot the dash up trying to shut that sucker off. I have adjusted my shift linkage multiple times, and I thought I had the problem solved a few times, but I was wrong. Last adjustment, it seemed fine for about 9 hours, but then on my way to our rally, evertime I hit a big bump, it would start buzzing and I would have to push forward on the shifter to shut it off, and then next crack in the road it would come on. sometimes leave it buzz for 10 seconds and it would shut off.

eventually on the way home, I opened the windows and turned up the radio. It would not buzz constantly, just about when you are in the heaviest of traffic and construction where you really should not be trying to figure the sweet spot on the shifter to where it shuts off without actually kicking the transmission into neutral.

I really don't want to adjust my transmisson shifter linkage anymore, because even though that changed the way it seemed to work, I now have it adjusted perfect for shifting points. at one point, it would not lock the parking pawl. so had to mess with it again.

so my quetsion is:

what causes that buzzer to come on(thinking maybe dirty connection or maybe bent connector point) and secondly where exactly is it. so I don't have to tear the entire dash down trying to hunt that thing down. and third, if I do find it, is cutting the wire an option, or will that screw something else up??? I don't need to be reminded of setting to travel, or anything else.
