Kingsoft.

One of the few pieces of Chinese software I’ll actually use.

I’m using a Mac and have been very happy with Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

All good suggestions I'm sure, I'm not familiar with any but I'm sure worthy of consideration.
The first key is to get someone to spearhead the effort.
And they should choose (or be) the person that chooses the software giving them the flexibility of using what they are fluent in, and best for how they intend to deploy it and where.
Years ago I used openoffice.org, and quickly ran into so many compatibility problem I gave up and bit the MS bullet.
BUT, that's referencing home and personal use.
Making available on the internet I would imagine have many more considerations than just easy to use at home for one person and cost.
Suspect, but do not know.

Google Drive does all of it for free.
Also saves everything as you go and saves online so you can get it from any computer.
Multiple people can edit if they are invited.
I honestly don't know why anyone uses any other software (including microsoft) at this point.

If you think that Google is the only service that keeps tabs on you, I have
some great Ocean view property near Quartzite for sale.

I got off the Windows merry go round and switched to Linux several years ago. It's not as slick as Windows but is free and isn't plagued by viruses. Ubuntu Linux came with LibreOffice installed. It's a close cousin of OpenOffice and there is also a Windows version download for those who are more comfortable with Microsoft.

https://www.techradar.com/news/libreoffice-vs-openoffice

After switching to DuckDuckGo for internet search I've pretty much put Google along with Microsoft in the rear view mirror.
