Well, today was what we have always known as "THE LORD'S DAY, and a day for
rest and recuperation". That being said, all this isolation has been very
hard on this Old Man that is basically a very social person.
So, that being said, we thought a recon mission was the order of the
day. Yesterday, Judy and I went shopping for some sandwich fixin's. Good
old standby, Balona and Meunster cheese for me, smoked turkey breast and
swiss for Judy. Sliced sweet apples, and Frito-Lay snack chips, some
wrapped Hershey's chocolate mini- bars. And some fresh baked rustic chewy
French bread rounded up the picnic basket. Some ice water for these 90+
degree days refreshment, and we were ready to go.
This morning, we set out for the Oregon Coast to find a suitable,
G.M.C worthy private campground near the Ocean. Wound up at the mouth of
the Siletz River where it meets the Pacific. A small privately owned RV
park, across the Siletz river sits "The Movie House" built for the filming
of Sometimes a Great Notion, a Henry Fonda flick. Great park, private
wooded spaces, some on the river bank, rental outboard powered skiffs,
launch ramp, docks. EZ in and out. From home and return, 200 plus miles.
Great day in the field. Coyote Rock campground is the name. Back home, 91°,
same old, same old. Hope you guys are all well .
