Had to rebuild the Quadrajet on my 73 Sequoia and noticed the throttle cable end is about worn out. Anyone have a part number or know of an aftermarket replacement?
What I’ve got will work, but i plan on switching out to Fitech and figured I'll need to replace for sure.
Thanx in advance

That is NOT what I wanted to see you write Jim.
But, I sure do understand.

Chaumière is on a fourth throttle cable but I have purchased five.

The first one broke maybe due to old age. We were traveling, so I did a jury rig. I managed to call around and find one by part number in striking range. It was close but it took some creativity to make it work.

Then second and third were purchased because I could see the incumbent shedding wires near the carburetor. I ordered by part number from my local NAPA warehouse. The first one (#2) delivered was flat out the wrong part in the box. The next part (#3) from them was close enough to make it work with a shim, still not quite right, but we were departing. That one ran a long time until it broke when I was backing the coach into the barn. (Nice Timing)

The fourth was real close but needed me to bend the throttle at the pedal to get to WOT. That one lasted a long time until something went real wrong and it became part of the ground circuit for the starter. It actually became incandescent for a moment. There was, fortunately, no other damage and I found the real problem.

The fifth is currently in service. It will not seat correctly in the penetration at the floorboard, but I will put up with that until either it fails or I run out of other things that need attention. (Any year now)

Matt

It is in the Engine section, Original Throttle Cable, not cheap since they
are produced in small quantities.
