He friended me on Facebook, but it was somebody posing as him who then
tried to sell me something. Just wondering how he’s doing.

I keep in touch with him. Just a few days ago, he was well. Australia has a
travel ban in place, due to the pandemic. He has good days, diamonds he
calls them, and some he calls rust. Kinda like the rest of us, I guess.

I am certain he still is missing his wife terribly. They did
so much together for so many years. After almost 60
years together with my Judy, I know such a loss would be
absolutely and literally heartbreaking to whomever is left
behind.

Our prayers and hopes go out to him.

A number of us have experienced that loss. My first wife and I celebrated
our 50th anniversary in her hospital room. I snuck in a special dinner for
us. A great dinner in spite of conditions. Next morning, she underwent her
second open heart procedure. First couple of days went well. After that,
she suffered a major cardiac event from which she never recovered.
I spent the next 2 years drinking Jack Daniel's and listening to
Bonnie Raitt as loud as I could stand it. When some of my GMC friends found
out what I was doing, they bailed me out of that ditch I was existing in,
kicked my butt, and I got straightened out. Got remarried to a great lady
that was friends with us for 60 years. But, depression is absolutely no
friend to anyone.
I have a number of friends who have had similar life experiences. No
da%% fun at all.

I usually call him about once a month. I'll admit it probably has been two months. We talk for about an hour about anything and everything. He is doing just OK and a phone call or a note to him might be a good thing to do.

Hi Rick:
I think most of us are in the same boat as you - contacted by imposter and no current news. Just so you know!
