Rich,
I'm not using one, but I do have a Victron battery monitor and have worked with other Victron equipment... they make high quality stuff.

When I need to replace my Yandina battery combiner it will be with a Victron or Samlex unit.

Also consider a low voltage cut-off... it protects your battery against a deep discharge if you forget to shut something off. I use a Samlex battery guard BG-40

Curious...anyone using a Victron Cyrix-ct 12/24 V 120 A combiner?

I have one in my coach for a little over a year now, and wonder why I did not install one 10 years ago. I installed it across the terminals of my isolator.

over a year ago, I installed the first one in someone's coach that they had just bought, and found the 3 wires taped together off the isolator. Testing, the isolator was junk, so I installed one of these victron units in place of the isolator. I think that worked well for them, but I did suggest they should replace the isolator, and put it across the isolator terminals. I don't think they ever have. I like "belts and suspenders" and when someone calls me later on the road with issues, I can help better when things are more "stock"
"

there was a third I installed last year that seems to work well.

and I know of a 4th I talked someone over the phone of installing.

good unit for the price. I think they are like $40?

Jon,
I did the same with mine....what did you do for the ground? Just direct to the body plate or to the battery? Which terminal did you hookup your house battery to, i know its supposed to be somewhat bidirectional but i wonder as the instructions are pretty specific to which terminals things go and if i'm using the converter to charge the engine battery [basically the opposite to the engine] if the connections should also be reversed.

Did you put a switch on the ground to prevent overcharging?
