G'day apocalypse survisors!
Quick question..
If anyones been paying attention, I have been swapping parts from a donor to my project. Coming up soon is the bathroom. I have no plans to remove the rear end of the spare to get anything out unless absolutely necessary. So my question is; I see a horizontal seam in the bathroom, about waist level, and wondered if it actually separates there so it can be removed through the door? I can't quite tell without ripping off the walls surrounding it. I have no problem doing that just wondered if anyone knows for sure it's actually 2 pieces.
TIA

Wonderful news. Thank you for the quick reply. I have to suspect, with the door opening space on the bathroom piece(s) they can be navigated through the entrance door...
Perhaps not, but I've done a lot of moving and I think it would make the turn in two pieces!
Thanks again,
Shawn

You might have better luck taking out one of the big sliding windows, just a thought....
I heard the same thing but I assume it was in one piece when they installed it. It just doesn't make sense in a production facility to have them putting things like that together inside. As an aside, I heard basically everything was installed through the back...

All the internal modules were rolled into the rear hatch before it was put on the back of the coach.

The royale rear side dry shower stall will fit out the entry door but it
has to be oriented just right to clear.

I was searching for something else and ran across my own post so I figured I would provide some closure for others...
It will, in fact, fit through the entrance door with the fridge and fridge panel removed. I couldn't believe it myself but to my surprise, positioned correctly the separated pieces came right out.
Cheers,
Shawn

Hi Shawn. Thanks for the info. Could you elaborate a bit more on the splitting of the two halves, and the reassembly (if you did so)?
Thanks!

Quite happy to Dave.
Disassembly;
Assuming you have access to all 4 sides (the back side is difficult) there are rivets every 8 inches or so that need to be drilled out. They are 3/16 ish. Where the unit/module curves in a bit, between the toilet/shower area and the sink there are two rivets, one inset a little further. If you're this far you'll see them. Drill out all rivets first. Next, between the rivets there are staples- these are are pain in the butt. I started at the left side of the doorway and used a pry tool and a hacksaw blade. Not a hacksaw, just a blade. Wedge up a little and cut the staples in half. Move all around until you're done. Be careful with wedge to not damage the fibreglass. I got little aggressive and cracked one spot that I will now have to fix. It's fairly forgiving if you are smart with the wedge. At this point the top and bottom will be free from each other.
Reassembly;
I used 3/16 - 5/8 rivets to reassemble the module. There was, as you will see, a putty like material between the two halves. I've no idea what it was but I used plumbers putty as a best guess. So, putty first, then rivet. I plan to caulk the seam if there are gaps (which there aren't). I didn't bother with staples as the seam "seemed" pretty tight. Pun intended. Position, reposition, postion, repostion the module... Still not done positioning myself. The tolerances are quite tight if you are dealing with a side bath like mine. Between the p-trap for the shower and the drains/ vents for the black tank it is has to be pretty exact. Good news is you can make these adjustments after reassembling the module.
Forgot to mention to grind off the staple bits and rivets that are sitting proud so the two halves sit together nicely after.
Good luck!
if anything doesn't make sense, You can call me and I will explain. Number will be provided if needed.
