I know nothing at all about the electrical elements of my coach, but I can tell you one thing for sure — none of it makes any sense at all. To me anyway.
1) when I purchased the Portwagon, the three-way Norcold worked flawlessly. Switched from shore power to propane and back again automatically just like I want it to. Then it didn’t. When the propane ran out, it stopped working properly. Would only beep at me letting me know there was no fuel. Filled the propane and it fired up again but only at the warmest temperature, button pushing did nothing, didn’t even change the display. Then yesterday I took the motorhome on our first tailgate in the Poconos, ran the generator for the a/c there and back, and now the Norcold is operating about 85% normally, was able to change the temp setting to “cold beer” and changed to shore power. The buttons seem to have shuffled their functions a bit though. Squirrelly.
2) And now, the remote start/stop buttons for the generator don’t work. The generator starts right up from the on board switch though and then runs flawlessly. From the dash or control panel? Nothing.
3) so, the fridge I had put down to being damaged by polarity issues from my home shore power. Every time I plug in, it makes an Audible pop from arcing (I’m guessing, polarity tester on its way from amazon). I had a microwave get fried from reversed polarity at a campground years ago and this seemed to be the same sort of issue, but now I have no idea. I’m mostly worried that the PO has returned to the realm of the living because he’s upset that I’ve spent so many hours removing all his Velcro solutions, thermometers and clocks and the accompanying adhesives and fasteners. Booooo!
Anyone qualified to perform electrical exorcisms?
