Well fellow MO HOE'rs its done, total geek out day for me and my engine. the best experience I have had and a slight tear.

My engine came from Gary Worbeck I have rebuilt the entire engine. bored .060 over slight "J" head modification, decked and EGR ports blocked 3 angle valve job. stock cast iron intake, q-JEt and Springfield ign and coil. double roller timing chain and RV cam Speed Pro CS1024R. 1500-4000 RPM 280intake/ 290 exhaust Advanced duration @ .050 204 intake/ 214 exhaust, Valve lift .448 intake/ .472 exhaust Lobe CL 112. sealed power hydraulic lifters HT 951

inertia factor is at .87 on the DYNO. I am absolutely impressed. totally blows away stock figures. now time to find the right gearing. the Manny Tranny should work well with this! Peak HP 294 @ 3800 RPM PEak TQ 469.2 @ 2800 RPM.

Yes Jim, that is next on my list to figure out, Withe these numbers, I am not sure if the 3.70 is the right choice but maybe we should have that discussion. I will also be getting the limited slip. I am most interested in the torque curve in this motor as it is almost flat above 400 ft/#. Kinda crazy. In either case its about matching the right gearing for 60-65 MPH and towing.

Out side of break in which there were issues, from builder missed the oil plug on the back of the block, pan was bent, lost 10 gallons of fuel on the floor to break in needed the stock oil filter location to pass by the headers, I dont have to worry about the engine when installed.

today i will be getting prices on Frank Condos hoist so plans for reinstall are moving forward.

Gents in my geekness on this issue I believe the dyno runs are important to match your final drive with the engine we are re-manufacturing in our coaches as well as suspected useage. I am excited about this process. and will update as things move forward.

I did not expect these results by the way. Quite honestly i didnt know what to expect.

Husker,

Go with the 3.70 because that will put you in the torque band at cruise. Torque peak is where the volumetric efficiency is best. If you went to a 4.10, that might be nice if you are towing much because you would be far enough up the torque curve to maybe get so "torque back-up". This is nice thing because when the load increases the slow down brings in more torque and that is what you want just then.

out of every 20 gears, we sell only one or two.
RPM difference 3.55 / 3.70 is only
130-140 RPM at 65mph but the torque
Is sensitive.

So its has been two weeks and the following is in stalled by my self

New engine
new trans
new front end
new brake lines
rebuilt original radiator
two piece fan shroud
remote trans cooler
radiator rock guard

I have made a modified a frame hoist and gantry with 1/4" of play it all came out the top with ease. good thing I took this route as it allowed me to get the new suspension parts in as well as the new axels and brakes.

easy real easy

engine was out in 2 hours , trans out in an hour took my time putting all back in so I dont have to climb back under.

This can be done by your self, not recommended but when you live in an area where people dont maintain their anything its what you are dealt with.

Frank Condo was a great help on the hoist.
and Jim K with some parts.

That's as heavy as Chucks, which I borrowed to do my engine. Different stands on the ends is all.
