I drove up to Rabun Gap to look at the coach Billy noted on Facebook off the Asheville NC Craigslist. A beautiful ride through beautiful country. Which was/is all the beauty on the trip. The coach looks like something somebody slicked it enough to run a couple of years ago. A set of six Alcoas with two year old Hankook's on them, 04-18 dated. Two fairly new A/c units, one on the roof and one inside the coach. An Onan and mounts which they say cranks and runs. Presumably carries load. Them's the bright spots.

Oil is full and dirty, no evidence of water. Transmission is overfull due to sitting, of strange looking fluid with a sticky feel and a bit of a burnt odor. Almost feels like it got a shot of Motor Honey or something similar. Engine looks to be box stock 73 - 74 points ignition, manifolds, etc. Claim is new brakes, however certainly not booster, master cylinder, or lines all of which are rusty. Frame has surface rust up front, a bit underneath as far as can be seen without jacking and cribbing. Bogie doublers look ok and don't appear to have rust between them and the frame. Frame is straight, again as far as I can see. Bogies have small pins in them. All window channels are shot, several hanging out of the track. Passenger windshield is cracked badly. It has copious RTV around it, driver's side looks like new glass. Lots RTV here and there around side windows, etc. Inside is stripped except the bath module. Floor is sound. Up front two cheap line FlexSteel or clones, look OK. Dash panel and surround good, not cracked. Speedo shows 82160. freshwater pump is original, plumbing is a mixture of original copper and replacement plastic (Not PEX) Icebox was faced to the wall, dunno what the inside of it looks like. Headliner is a plastic sandwich like the sign shops use, panel where the icebox was is missing. Center front clearance light is missing the lens. Freshwater tank looks good, it migh be a new one.

I took a fair number of cell camera pictures, I'll put them in an album. Depressing. If I had a place to let it sit while I parted it I'd give a couple hundred. I suspect they think their idea of 5500 is reasonable. It isn't. If you're close and can hide it behind the barn in the pasture, buy it and piece it out. Otherwise, I'd shine it on.
