Today was "Yard Men Day", the every-other Thursday when SHE has two
possibly-illegal Guatemalans come to do their thing. Today they showed up
with two teenage helpers also, I suppose a result of the Wuhan Virus.
With all that help available, I figured it was time to take the black
plastic cover off of our 18'x36' pool. I really dreaded seeing what was
hiding under there because a few weeks ago the plastic pulled some of the
bricks from one side into the pool, allowing some of the winter debris to
escape from above to below the cover.
After siphoning a little residual water from the top of the cover, two of
us peeled the cover back and moved it to the yard for folding and
disposal. Lo & Behold! There was very little debris in the pool, and NO
fungus, mold, green or yellow stuff to be seen anywhere! I was shocked.
The water was as clear as when we covered it in October.
I spent the rest of the day correcting the few problems: All the pool
tools' (dippers) fabric had disintegrated over the winter so I had to
depend on the pool sweep to get out the few pine needles. I managed to get
2 of the 11 bricks out before the tools were demolished, then I had to dive
for the other 9. The water was quite comfortable on this 90* day. Then
the pool sweep started acting up, so I spent all afternoon repairing,
breaking, and ordering parts for it.
All that to tell you, "No, I didn't get the ATF back into the GMC and check
for leaks!" I need something to keep me busy tomorrow+. :-) And too bad
I can't ask anyone to come help!
Y'All stay safe out there -- we've already heard of too many friends
succumbing to the Wuhan Virus!
