Anyone have a picture or know exactly were the black tank bolts attach to the coach one a single tank system?
Looking under my coach [im in the process of making ramps] i see that the PO wired up one of the black tank mounting straps to the cross member and although i'm not a betting man would gamble to the fact that the bolt broke. I am hoping you'll say they are "J" bolts that hook into the frame like the ones used for most fuel tank install but that would just be to easy.
The one that broke is on the left side [driver side or street side as we call it in my trade] if that makes a difference.
thanks

on GM coaches, they are a carridge bolt that goes through the floor. depending on your floorplan, depends on access on how easy they are to replace. on my palm beach, some are under cabnetry, others under the flooring(carpet). I was able to replace one that was under my carpet, the other one I carefully cut it off, and welded on some treaded rod because it was not going to go up and out under the cabinet, yet the threads were buggered and it broke when trying to remove the nuts.

I had the same problem with one of my black tank bolts. Not wanting to weld the threaded to the cut off bolt I used wire rope clamps to attach the rod. Still good after 18 years.

Dealing with 40 year old cracked plastic has taught me quite a
bit.
All I need to know, in fact, about waste tanks in GMCs.
DON'T TOUCH THEM. NOT NOW, NOT NEVER.

Sawzall and floor jack with a 2' x 2' piece of plywood on the jack pad. Cut
all the plumbing and the straps, and lower away. Roll it out into the
driveway, and throw it in the back of my truck. Then off to the recycle
center with the whole mess. Throw away the rubber gloves along with the
tanks.
I hate em.
