Okay, this is hardly a new topic, but I just spent the last 20 minutes searching the archives and didn't get the info I needed.

It's been a while since I last did this and I can't remember whether or not I need to remove the starter in order to get enough room to pull the right front axle shaft. I just got it unbolted from the flange last night and haven't turned the knuckle yet, but there doesn't seem to be a way around it.

It's not that I mind taking the starter off, but it's a heavy thing (so I guess I do mind after all).

Thanks,
