Curious as i dont have one...how are the OEM roof boxes fastened? I noticed there are multiple spots on the roof that look like pre-drilled bolt holes that are sealed up with sealer.

The roof box is not a factory item.
I have seen them installed a number of ways. Usually just screws.
Last two I installed, I used nut-zert. Made a much bigger hole then I wanted to in order to use the nutzert, but I sealed it up with both garden hose washer between roof and pod.(works great) And also with sealant. Both theadlock for air line fittings and some lap sealant. It is solid and will not leak now.
The ones I seen with just screws into the roof skin, make me nervous.

Sorry, yes you are correct Jon, the box was a factory option and not a factory made component... i meant "installed" at the factory.
