Yesterday I had a routine doctor's appointment in Macon, GA. Afterward,
my son, grandson, and I visited the home/shops of a deceased long-time
GMCer (bought his first one in '78). We'd had no contact with his family
since his death in early '19. Through an employee we found there, I was
able to contact his son, who has taken over the family business: Corvette
restorations.

A 'phone conversation with the son gained me this information which may be
of interest to someone: He has 5 GMC's:

1. '76 (?) light yellow Birchaven 23'. Has one small door on right side
missing, otherwise body appeared to be OK. Reportedly runs and drives
good.

2. '78 Tan 26' Model ?. Reportedly driveable except that has some unknown
front suspension parts misplaced during rebuild.

3. '78 Eleganza II which was bought for $20K many years ago and has had
$20K interior work by Jim Bounds before complete "ground up" restoration,
including windshields & dash removal, before the father's illness began 5
years ago. Son says this one is in great shape, or will be when he
re-installs those items (he's the Corvette body restorer). A full set of
new Alcoas for it.

4. & 5. Unknown 26' "restorable" parts coaches.

All of these are for sale, probably for reasonable prices (except maybe the
Eleganza II) based on my conversation with "Robbie". I've not yet been
within 50' of any of them, but will probably examine all of them on 30 Dec.
when I'm back in the area.

If you have an immediate interest, send me an off-net email for contact
information. I'm hoping we can save these classics!

Oh yeah, he's got a whole flock of Corvettes there too, if anyone's
interested.

Ken H.
