Blowing off some steam. Sometimes it just helps to vent.
Replacing LH exhaust manifold. Wouldn't' be too bad except for the darned PS bracket. Oh well keep plugging away. At least I installed studs w/ long brass nuts instead of bolts. Only one that needs to come out is the center one.

Yeah finder liner is out. Where we are parked on grass is not the best for jacking. I do have blocking if absolutely needed. So far I've been doing OK with running back and forth inside to outside as necessary. I can jack if absolutely necessary but it may take longer to do that jacking vs struggling with it the way it is. So far the PS bracket has not been a serious problem. (Hope it stays that way.)
One way or another we are out of here tomorrow. Under our own power or on the hook. (See dead coach thread for details.

Throw a piece of board under the crossmember, grab a jack and just jack it up to the point the wheel is just touching the ground....makes for way more room and you can leave the wheel on then....

Sorry, but NEVER, NEVER, NEVER crawl under a coach that is only supported
by a hydraulic Jack. Always use Jack stands, or solid wood cribbing. NO
EXCEPTIONS, EVER. Your life depends upon it.

Smart guys put a jack stand or blocks under the frame when working in over the tire...or hope the spring doesn't break during that time.

As stated:: block it up and make sure it is stable before going under the coach.

While you've got the wheel well liners out, you might consider a mod
similar to this:

Fact is, I've just about quit re-installing the inner halves of the liners
so access is ALWAYS easier. If I'd known I was going to do that, I might
have cut them 2/3 stay-in and 1/3 removed-for-good, but I'm still happy
with only those partial liners.

I like my mod better. Take them off and leave them and leave them off. No cooling problems, no vapor lock problems and everything is easy access.

Ken Burton has offered to help. This is my latest note to him. Explains what is going on here. Or more precisely what is not happening here.
Fuel system mods, Got the new dist in, new plugs, replacement carb, exhaust manifold gasket in, new exhaust donut. Started right up. Started so quick the starter could just barely be heard. Ran it around the campground to get to the dump station. All good, so far. This was all completed about 1500. Hooked up the toad and went out for a test run. Figured if it passed we would keep going. Heading for you.
Crap - runs like crap. Back to Tall Sycamore campgrounds. Where before, with the sick coil it backfired through the carb, now at least the backfire is going out the back. I'm going to read up on possible causes for after fire. The only thing I can think of is I did not get the timing right. CFO is saying enough is enough and lets get it towed back to Wi$con$in. Not that bad as we have good tow coverage though AAA & stateFarm. However still a bummer.
Thanks for the heads up on your location. If anything changes I'll let you know by email. I know you don't use email but with my hearing and yours, especially through cell phones, it is about all that works well.
