So, I am putting Chaumière back together. When you have to change out the front frame, there is not much that does not get undone.

Where the steering shaft meets the Steering Box (I always call it a steering engine because that is part of my world) there is a Ujoint. One end of that Cardan (aka Ujoint) goes on the spline of the streering engine (box) and it was loose and I was concerned. I was thinking of ways I might shim this or do something to get that looseness gone. Then it occurred to me that Alex would know. I put a message out to him.

I got a message back from Lori that said Call Him. Then another that said, "Call me XXX-XXX-XXXX"

So I did.

His answer was that is not strange, just go and get a fine thread bolt and nut for it and make it up as tight as you can. Probably the reason you can't get the slip shaft in and out is because it is full of grease. Take it apart and clean it......

Well, I did just that. A 7/16-20 Gr8 and a nylok nut and they may not have been cheap, but it did it.
I will pull the slip-shaft apart over the winter and clean it out.

That is one more thing I won't have to worry about for a while.
