Emery,
I saw a posting from back in 2007 on the photo site where you used some 3" ABS pipe and fittings for your air intake from the jeep snorkel to the air cleaner. Are you still using this setup or did you find issues later due to heat etc.
I have the same setup but using dryer duct. The dryer duct is very fragile and starts to unspiral often. Looking for something to replace the dryer duct.
Thanks

Bruce,
You MAY find just what you need at a farm supply dealer. I went to the
local John Deere dealer and found what's called "picker hose", a 3"(?)
diameter hose similar to your dryer hose but of MUCH sturdier black
rubber&fabric construction (I think it's used to vacuum the cotton off the
plants). I suspect there's not much cotton grown in you area, but maybe
there are other uses (snow blowers?). :-)

I used a 3" flexible duct from Spectre and it worked great, but it's too short for the whole run. Since I had a heavy corrugated flexible rubber hose - probably from a Jeep and about 14" long, the Spectre duct worked and is routed through the body support oval opening, and finally a Spectre tapered filter.
20 dollars from Amazon.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPZ55Y/

Bill,
Just wondering what the actual inside diameter of the hose? The coupler fits an OD of 3", but the hose itself looks to be 3" OD and with the ribs maybe only 2.25" ID? The dual 2" TB will have an opening area of 6.28 Sq inches at WOT. That requires a hose with an ID of 2.8" to match. One review on Amazon mentioned the hose ID was much smaller, but did not have a measurement. I would think the hose should at minimum match the WOT area of the TB, if not more. The corrugated pipe will also give alot of resistance to air flow.
I looked at the same product in 4" and one reviewer measured the ID of the hose at 3 3/8".
Maybe I'm being anal since I never go to WOT.

Bruce, take a look at the stock air cleaner. No way it is 3" inside
diameter. It handled over 800 CFM through a stock quadrajet with volume to
spare. A convoluted tube without sharp bends should be just fine. Have
spent some quality time at a friends speed shop who has a very good flow
bench. Used it quite a bit. Learned a lot. You guys ok after the wind
storm/hurricane?

Bruce,
I went out and measured the Sceptre 3" duct at 2.75" OD at the corrugation valley. I'm guessing the wall is about a sixteenth, so, say 2.68" ID.
