The newspaper today says 80% of Nova Scotia is without power due to the hurricane. I realize that he is not on the ocean side of the Island or peninsula but it is not very wide there.

I just looked at that storm track and it looks like it went right over him.

Just had power restored his morning at 11:30. Over the top of us is exactly
where it came. No damage to cars or house or GMC but the trees look like a
recent nuke job. I'm going to have to hire a team of cutters....to clean
up this mess and preventative for next time.
Ya never miss the power until it's gone !

Thanks for askin' Ken

Glad to hear that you are back to the electrified world. We had a similar problem here about 25 years ago only it was snow. 6 days without power and cold weather. I had loaned by generator to someone. So we did not have it and the roads were shut down

All I said and did was to ask "what would Daniel Boone have done?"

Welcome back to the world.

Where once tall trees and fruit trees lived beside my house and on my
property, I will now have to make up some signage " Naked Acres" seems to
sum it up !

Chuck, the pan is safe and sound. In fact I'll send you a picture taken
earlier this Spring..remember it's the same guy you met... lol Couldn't
get into the GMC. Not a scratch on the thing but a maze of criss crossed
trees along the pass side. I should have called Rob Muller to see how long
it takes to put a door on the left side !

Fay, I don't think I'd trade my wet and wind for your California fires, but
then again, I've only experienced one of the two events..I suspect neither
would be a 'good time'. thanks :)

Ken, when the power goes out here in the winter, it usually only lasts a
few hours....6 days, don't want to think about it. Thanks for the welcome
to civilization. Off Grid...Ah, no thanks !

Good to hear you made it out of that mess some what unscaved Mike....you folks on the east coast just seem to get all the storms lately. We got mucho wind and rain just because it messed up the weather patern.

I know what it like to be out of power because the last ice storm we had 20 some years ago put use off grid for 6 days as well.....bailing the sum was no fun....lol.

Glad you're ok, Mike. If you were closer, we'd bring the chainsaw and help
clear out those downed trees like we did for my cousin in Alabama some
years ago.

All the best for a fast recovery.

Mike,

I've been anxiously awaiting your reply to Ken B's inquiry. Sure glad the
damage wasn't worse, as disappointing as it may be to see things demolished.

Another question: Has anyone heard anything from Paul & Nancy Doane? I
haven't and am still worried -- not knowing how close the storm passed by
them.
