Trying to get some things working. I aired up the air bags ( '77 Electro
level II) and all worked fine. However, the dash light stays on when in
Drive. Where does that little item begin life and how do I shut it off?
Thanks

Good Morning Mike.
First mine has not worked (turned on) in years and I have never bothered to fix it. I did look at the 1978 Electro level wiring diagrams in the "tell tale" area. I see that there is a time delay relay there that turns that light off and on. I have no idea where it is located, but I assume it is under the dash somewhere near the "tell tale" lights.

Rectangular plastic box with wires coming out under drivers dash. Timer circuit. One board in there. Mine works so have not explored further.

Mike,
The wiring diagram for my '77 Palm Beach shows it as being a time delay relay to operate that lamp.
It gets its power from the Neutral Start safety switch when you put it in Drive.
The diagram shows it as having 4 wires.
-2 yellow wires
-Brown wire
-Brown with double white stripe.
Look for a module under the dash with those wire colours and remove the module. It will not affect anything because all it does is turn on the dash lamp for a few seconds everytime you put it in Drive.
BTW had a great time on the Cabot Trail. In Halifax now
