A couple of questions on the window felts / rubber seeals.
(1) I recently completed the new felt install in the cabin windows and
afterwards the windows are extremely hard to open/shut. One of the felts I
had to make it thinner by shaving almost all of the rubber backing off of
it, just to allow the window to move at all. Is there an easy fix for
this? Is there a thinner felt to use for the top part of the channels?
(2) while installing the felts in the driver and passenger windows, I
noticed some window frame separation which was most likely the cause of my
leaks, so I removed these two windows to repair. The fixed upper part of
the windows had a rubber seal around it in the aluminum channel, similar
to the felts but with no felt. Does anyone know where to get this? Or
would it be ok to just use the black sealant to fill these channels?
I am currently in Midland, Michigan but will be heading to Detroit
tomorrow, so if any Michiganders see this and know local places to shop for
parts, please let me know. 786-457-3123.
Thanks
