Moving around the gmc and in a hurry. I backed my bike rack into the garage and that hit the rear window and cracked it. About 8 lines going up from bottom.

I pushed on it a little and it seems ok. I should be fine driving/camping? It wont go into 1000 pieces right? More like a windshield??

On that note. 9 years ago when I bought it i put glass
Coverage on it. Thank goodness.

You can put duct tape on the glass to keep it from caving in.
Criss cross it and do't push on it without pressure from other side.

If it was tempered glass it would now be in a million pieces.
Use clear packaging tape on the inside.

Jon,

I'm thinking the rear glass is laminated safety glass (like the windshield) You shouldn't have any problem with it. If it makes you feel better, put some clear packing tape on it, but it is probably not necessary.

After I posted this I gained a little more guys and push on the glass a little but inside and out. I dont think it is falling apart soon, but i need to still be careful. It was fine with no tape the hour drive last night.

4th of july weekend. Have gmc tally next weekend. Will have a conversation with the glass shop maybe tomorrow and see if it is reasonable to get it replaced this week. Anybody know about the rubber? Is that something they might have or do i need to get that from a vender?

Not sure I mentioned before how much I am starting to dislike bikes. They are really a pain yo bring camping, but a necessity for the kids.

The rubber will likely still be good. Make sure the glass company puts the
'pull strip', 'locking strip', 'spreader band' on the INSIDE .

Jon,

You can always hang the bike rack on the back of the towed car. That's what we do when we take biked.
