One Netter commented on Plastic-mend ( plasti-mend.com ) that was in the FMCA magazine on page 19. The spec sheet data indicates that it should work well for repairing black ABS plastic used in our and other RV’s, and it is priced at $38.39.
There are a number of other products available for the repair of black ABS plastic that many of the GMC community may not be aware and I do not recommend anyone over another.
Plastifix Repair Kit part#01-00543 from Aircraft Spruce ( aircraft spruce.com ) $31.60
Permatex weather resistance Black Plastic Welder, available from Amazon $5.97 ( )

Many have made repairs on the black ABS piping my ground up bits of black ABS piping material and mixing it with MEK (methyl ethyl keytone).
There are a number of options available for repair of black ABS.

I have used fiberglas cloth or mat and abs cement or JB weld. No matter what you decide to use surface prep if most important.
Your results may vary.

However the original GMC holding tanks are made of polypropylene which is not ABS. I really don’t think any of them are ABS unless someone got an ABS replacement tank. So I am really questioning if this repair would work on the GMC tanks.
