Manufactures only put a part in for a good reason. And the type of material used to make those parts. The GMC has 4 body mounts. 2 at the front, and 2 at the rear. The 2 main things that these mounts do. Is to keep the body, and frame as a unit. And keep 1. If you've ever taken a GMC completely apart. As I have. You've become very aware that the body is more of a main frame then the steel structure it sets on. We have 2 main steel structures. One at each end. To have something to attach drivetrain parts too. The 2 side rails have very little strength too them. I see them as a means of keeping the front/rear suspention structure. In position as to the relationship to each other. This is where the body pads come in. 2. There has to be a space between the body, and the suspention. To keep road vibration/noise away from the passenger area. These GMC's where built for a high end market. So whatever we use to make replacement pads. Shouldn't be any harder then the pads that GM supplied originally. Bob Dunahugh

JP, and B Dunahugh,
I don't recall what year of Ford I beam model truck uses strut pads that are identical to the front and rear round isolator pads our GMC MH uses.
Replaced mine some years back, along with the center pads. FWIW
Jp Benson wrote on Wed, 27 February 2019 18:46Barry Controls makes vibration isolators similar to the ones used on the front and rear body mounts. They are rated by axial and radial load. The 22003 model is the closest match to the GMC isolators. Same diameter but requires a taller plate. I used the 22003-14.

Michael,
The I beam axles have each a control arm back to a mount at the frame. The large round rubber isolator at the end of the control arm to frame is very close to what the coach uses front and back. I was able to use them as replacement, OEM were rock hard. I also increased the thickness of the isolators ( 3/4 in ), gave me better clearance on top of the engine.
Hope this is a better explanation.

Are you possibly calling them something different?
