We (Randy and Margie Van Winkle) and the Duggers (Fred and Diane) are
presently in the Pensacola area, and we have lots of time to play before
reporting to Tallahassee FL. Any suggestions of things to see/do and
places to visit/ stay are welcome!

Pensacola Navy Aviation Museum.
Tallashaee Automobile Museum.
Visit Florida Welcome Station and pick up tourist information.
If your are in the area now, take short trip to Mobile for Mardi Gras parades. Check web for schedule. Best day is Fat Tuesday, where parades start at 1030 and run all day. I think at least 7 are on schedule.
Visit USS Alabama battleship. Have fresh seafood at Felix's.

Agree with Tom about Mardis Gras. If you don't like those big crowds in
Mobile, where Mardis Gras originated, you may want to go to parades in Gulf
Shores and/or Orange Beach. They have good parades, too. We enjoyed being
on the beach road with the beach to our back watching the parade in Orange
Beach.
In Gulf Shores, the Original Oyster House is a good seafood place and you
certainly won't go wrong at Felix's on the Causeway just east of Mobile.
Another beautiful spot to watch the sunset is at the Fairhope Pier.
All those places are my home stomping grounds. I grew up in Mobile.
See y'all in Tallahassee.

Go out to Santa Rosa Island and Fort Pickens.
Also go to Joe Patti's Seafood Market.
Have fun. Will miss you guys.
Gary Coaster
Thank Gary,
We will miss you guys at Tallahassee! We went by Joe Pattie's - fun place and we ended up with some shrimp - tasty! We also were on Santa Rosa Island, however, it was foggy so that cut down on the effect. Visited the Pensacola Lighthouse then spent some time at the Naval Air Museum. All in all, a great day!
We are now at Sirum's where Fred is getting a new radiator after having experienced overheating issues for to0 long. Not sure where to after this stop. Lots of planning to do tomorrow!
