we find a wireless magnetic mount toad light works really well and requires no modification to either the coach or the tow car wiring. a transmitter pluggs into the coach trailer receptical and stays there. You can hide the transmitter behind the bumber, inside the coach or wherever. Most kits come with adapters for all the common plugs. the magnetic mount lights sit on top of the tow car. when the coach lights are activated the wireless transmitter sends the signal to the tow car lights. Simple, fast and nearly fool proof. The tow car lights are powered by AAA batteries in most of the kits I have seen and rechargable versions of those are available anywhere. I keep one set charged and a second set in use. Batteries last a week or so. The only downside to the ones I have is when you turn on the headlights, the tow car lights come on but they do not go off when you turn off the head lights. Don’t know if that is a bug or a design feature. These sets are available from all the normal on-line or brick and mortar RV places.
