Does anyone have the "YEAR, MAke, MODEL" for ordering the rear Brake parts? We lost a wheel and of course the rear brake kit.

I am sure someone here can be more help.
Please reply with a list if actual parts damaged.
Do you need to replace the hub(journal), brake drum, spindle and back plate. That could be hard.
The brake shoes are any riveted 462 shoes.
The wheel cylinder is any 15/16 that looks close.
Springs come in a kit and a 75 Toronado or any heavy GM of that era will work. Right or left makes a difference in the kit.
Please reply with as specific a location as you can provide.
If you are working with something with a screen, go to <rockauto.com> Choose oldsmobile 1975 vistacuiser 7.5
scroll down to brake parts and start making notes.
Most of this is in the printed replacement parts list or on the thumb drive from GMCMI.
Please keep us informed.

Years ago I had a 1977 Jeep Wagoneer.The brake shoes and the other brake parts (except for the drum because of the 8 lugs on the GMC) for the rear GMC are identical to those used on the rear of the1977 Jeep Wagoneer. You might check under those parts at an Auto Parts shop. American Motors made the Jeep at that time and they used parts from many different manufacturers.
I once had a list of GM automobiles that used the same parts but I cannot find it. I know it included Pontiacs, Buicks and others.

You can always send it "General Delivery" to any post office "Hold for Pick UP". Fed-Ex will also hold for pick up any a package any of their terminals, ship stations, or Fed-ex retail outlet. Call 1-800-GOFEDEX and they will give you a list of possible hold locations in any city.

Or
If you can get it rolling correctly you might be able to block that wheel
out of the brake system with a plug or cap and deal with the braking
function later. Still have 5 others with brakes.

The rear brake parts, except the drums were used on many cars of that era. I once found they were identical to the parts on my 1977 Jeep Wagoneer.

I did that once and drove home to Chicago from Rayne, Louisiana. Got a cap from Oreily's and sealed off the middle left wheel. I never noticed that it was not working all the way home for about 1000 miles.

My Eleganza was delivered to me by its PO with only the front brakes functional as the rear lines had rusted through at one of the bogie boxes. He did not know what was wrong and said only “the brakes aren’t working so well” during our negotiations. It was completely driveable with no rear brakes but you had to be on your toes and always be cognizant of the greatly increased stopping distance.
A field-expedient MacGyver repair might be to use a pair of vise-grip pliers to crimp the brake line to the failed wheel if a cap were not available. The shoes and the rest of the mechanism could be gutted if they were interfering with drum rotation.
I don’t think we’ve seen a more detailed description of the original poster’s “we lost a wheel” statement so all of our suggestions and ideas so far may be meaningless especially if the spindle, bearings and drum have all friction welded together into a solid mass.

I once did an emergency temp fix by pulling the brake line loose at an inverted flare fitting upstream of the blown wheel seal and inserting a nail in the line. The head of the nail pinched between the inverted flare fittings (the nail slipped down into the brake line) stopped the flow of brake fluid and got the rig back on the road. Not the best but it did work.

Your all wasting your time.
Call 800-752-7502 we have 3 people that can help, just explain you need
part numbers as your sort of stranded.
We did not get to be the largest supplier by not willing to help.

I've told this before... When stopping to take pictures of the Columbia
River nearing Portland, OR, our shift cable broke. Bob let the coach cool
down, opened the engine cover and manually shifted and headed on toward the
RV park where we had reservations.
On the way, about 4:30 p.m., I called Jim Kanomata and told him what we
needed and gave him the address of the RV park. Next day, about noon, I
went to the office to tell them we were expecting a package. The worker
said, "I believe that's it over there...".
Bob and I can't say enough good about Jim K. and his crew. They "can do
it" and they do!

This is a question for the originator of this thread. What exactly did you
mean when you mentioned the word "stranded" Are you in dire straits? Are
you broken down in a biker neighborhood? Are you warm and comfortable, of
freezing your butt off in sub zero temperatures. Do you need immediate
roadside assistance, or can you just go back in the house, fire up the
laptop and search for the least expensive parts to repair your coach? Those
of us in the GMC COMMUNITY that might gladly come to rescue you might find
some of those answers beneficial. Also, a location might just possibly be
helpful. I for one don't give a rat's ass about tracking your information
to do a follow up email sales campaign. Just knowing who I might drive out
to help might be a little bit helpful.
