Hi Bob,

Take another look at the presentation I did at GMCMI in Tucson about how to sell or buy a GMC. Most vintage vehicle or enthusiast buyers look first at the exterior aesthetics knowing that is the most expensive thing to get right, and it is the first thing they see when looking at your coach. Next, they will look at the interior fit, finish, materials, aesthetics and smells as those are the second most expensive things to get right. If the coach passes muster on those two fronts, then they will turn their attention to the powertrain, brakes, suspension, HVAC systems and electrical infrastructure. It takes a really sophisticated and experienced old vehicle buyer to upend this order of evaluation. Yours no doubt shines in the third category but if it falls short in either of the first two categories it may take some time to find the right buyer. I have not seen your coach so no judgement here.

On this forum most of the posts cover the items in the third category and largely ignore the first two. So, it is not surprising that posters here will find your coach a real bargain given what all you have done. The market will unerringly tell you whether it is a bargain for those who are not posters here.

So. Has the work completed. Negate the issue of it setting for all those years. I've tried to make this GMC safe/dependable. It is. It comes down to a persons comfort zone. I'd say it's well within most peoples comfort zone. I have a very high comfort zone. If I was buying it from me. I'd take me up on the offer of rebuilding the good working trans. $2000. And have me rebuild the front knuckles with the grease fitting option for a $1000. That would bring the total to $20,000. That is still a very low price for all that's been done. At lease I think so. My personal comfort zone is off the charts. That's how we ended up with $41,000 in it. No labor cost.. In the 78 Royale we drive a lot. Some owners carry lots of parts. I'm taking all my spare parts along with me also. It's just that I bring my parts along. Already installed. Parts take up much less space that way. ( GRINN ) Bob Dunahugh
