How does one test the fuel sending units?
I've see it somewhere but don't recall where.
I'm interested in testing the electrical part to register on the fuel gauges in the instruments up front.

Also how to change this flag above. I like Canadians but I am an American, born and raised in the USA.

I just did this. They are 0-90 ohms. Mine test from like 1 to 91 ohms.

HTH

I can't help with the flag

From my experience, the flag is set based on your IP address. Are you connecting to the internet through a VPN? Its server may be based in Canada.

As Melbo says, use an ohm meter from sensor ground to the sensor connector and read the resistance.

Internet: First through Suddenlink (local), then through Verison and they switched us over to Frontier.
Don't know what VPN is, sorry.

Should sender be in the tank to get a ground or just connect the volt/ohm meter ground wire on ground side and red wire to the sensor side of the sending unit?

Really stupid when it comes to electronics and electricity. Usually cannot diagnose squat.

VPN - virtual private network. Read about it on wiki.

No telling where your provider's servers are physically located on the net by IP asignment.

I use alligator clips on my meter and connect to the stud on the top of the unit and clip the other one on any metal part BUT to be sure the ground wire is good it would be best to connect to the black ground wire attached to the unit. Then just move the float up and down and watch the numbers on the meter.

0-90 is typical GM. Best to have meter in a manual mode probably 200 Ohm scale. Watch for dropouts./ deadspots. This is actually a great use for an old school analogue meter.

Perhaps Texas is quietly negotiating an exit from the US and joining up with Canada? Smile
