I have a clunk in my front end that sounds like a CV joint going bad as it's speed related. I've read that the Toronado axles will work, but there were some fitment issues? A1Cardone shows rebuilt ones for a 75 for ~$65 plus a core charge. Can those be used? Any other concerns that I should be aware of? Thanks.

But first, check to see if the drivers side inboard CV fasteners are tight.
They frequently loosen up if not properly torqued.

George,
For many years, the Toronado/Eldorado CV's were the same as those on the
GMC, but the axle shafts were shorter. It was a very simple matter to swap
the CV's onto GMC axles. Then, some time ago -- a couple of years at least
-- SOME of the "rebuilt" Toronado/Eldorado axles with CV's started showing
up with (probably) new CV's on axle shafts with different splines. Those
"new" CV's will NOT fit the longer GMC axle shafts. Those new CV's are
drastically different in appearance from the old ones -- even without
counting the splines.
Before I converted to the 1-Ton front end and no longer use GMC axles, I
went to every parts store in Americus (4) and had them show me, on their
screens, the axles they were offering. They all looked like ours. I
warned each store that I'd accept ONLY axles that had that old appearance,
then had them order in every axle they could find in their warehouses. All
but 4 out of the 10-12 they received had to be shipped back to their
warehouses.
Whether that trick will still work, I don't know -- but it's worth a try if
you need a CV.

Never heard of anyone finding a place to get only CV's. Reportedly, one of
the only rebuilders with the equipment to truly rebuild our CV's is in
Florida, and is the place Jim Bounds uses. I don't think they deal direct
& I don't remember the name of the company. I don't have any idea who Jim
K. uses.

Thanks for all your replies. I'll check the torque on the inner CVs first. I didn't find the rebuilt axle in JimKs catalog, but should have figured that one of the Jim's could set me up with the correct parts. It's hard to get underneath the coach in the driveway when it's close to freezing outside.

George,
Call and Nick or Gary will show where it is listed on the sight.
Maybe under Front Suspension.
The new joints have different splines, so watch out.
You need to understand we play with these thing 6 days a week and in full
comunication with other GMC MH shops across the USA so we tend to know.

To further complicate matters, John L took the coach out again after I had jacked up the coach to recheck and torque the wheels once again. Drove without any 'clunk' and no noticeable looseness when shifting from reverse to drive. Coach ran and drove well, s9 we're perplexed what may have been happening before to cause the clunking.
