Johnny,

Re "I take them off at 6 years or so and resell them locally for pickups who
will wear them out before they age out."

What are they typically worth in the used market? And how are you finding
the buyers?

I am using Goodrich Commercial TA - mainly because they are readily
available, competitively priced and "fresh" at a nearby local Discount Tire
store. I, too, am removing them at six years but usually less than 50K
miles. I, however, would do that regardless of "name brand" manufacturer -
except for the rough-riding "all steel" (Goodyear G159) tires I installed in
the late '90s. I used those things for ten years (with no "events"), about
80K miles and still not worn to the "wear bars". Their replacement cost
would have been about $350/tire, ready to drive away. So, I opted for the
BFG Commercial TA - much less expensive and a substantially more comfortable
ride. 'Just was unwilling to pay the disproportionately increased cost over
ten years of the replacement G159s.

I use Cooper tires on our Alaska-based Airstream coach - mainly because the
tire store I use keeps them on hand. For the size I need, other "name brand"
tires have to be "imported" from warehouses in "America" and it takes up to
two weeks to get them.

Cooper HT3s. Decent tires, not greatly expensive, and the local store's
been selling me tires for 30 odd years. Quiet, which matters to me. I'm
like Dunahugh, I don't go off the hard surface except when the pad at the
campsite is gravel. They sell for whatever WalMart us getting. Mine age out
before they wear out. I take them off at 6 years or so and resell them
locally for pickups who will wear them out before they age out.
