I bought an electric fuel pump here in town at an Advance Auto Parts Store. That pump failed in Albert Lee Minnesota a week later. So I took that failed pump into an Advance Auto Parts store in Albert Lee. I had the box that the pump came in. With the Cedar Rapids store address on the box.They refused to warrantee the pump because I didn't have the original receipt. Just a photo copy. So I had to buy another fuel pump. That would never happen at Auto Zone,or O'Reillys. Our REAL problem is that we never have problems with these close to our local store. I had 3 electric pumps fail that last year before going to EFI. Ken Henderson, and Alix Ferreira bailed me out one of those times in Shawnee Oklahoma. 6 miles from the GMCMI event. Needless to say. I never buy any parts from Advance. Bob Dunahugh 78 Royale

Try that at NAPA with the original receipt. Sorry, you have to take it back to the store where you bought it.

Four or five years ago, we had an alternator fail on our 2002 Ford Explorer at Branson West, MO. We were about 100 yards or so from an O'Reilly's store. Bought a replacement and a local chap did the R&R for $20! That replacement failed about 2 months ago. I did NOT have the receipt. Local (Oklahoma City) O'Reilly's retrieved the record of that old purchase and gave me the NEW replacement. Do you think I will continue to shop at O'Reilly's? You betcha! NAPA also has the same way to locate purchases at other NAPA stores.

If it makes a difference most of the those stores keep warranty items under a phone number in the system.
I returned an alternator to autozone a while back just by the phone number as I was in the system and they could verify I purchased it. As you may or may not know, most of the receipts printed by any store now a days fade out after a year or so, so even if you have the original receipt after a while it washes out.

Ive also exchanged "gold" lifetime warranty brake pads for our van 2-3 times. No questions asked. The pads were wore down and they just kept the new box and put the worn out pads in them to ship back.

The Napa stores around here are individually owned and don't honor other Napa warrentees.
