I have been looking for aluminum 16 or 17 in wheels to replace the 16.5 wheels. The Ion wheels appear to be very reasonably priced. I prepared a comparison chart(but could not upload it) and the offset is 1.17 inch further out 102mm vs 130 for Alcoa. Back space 8.13 for alcoa and 7.52 for Ion. Otherwise it appears they would be ok. Would like input on the use of the Ion wheels, I may be missing something. Jim

I would not want incorrect offset due to torque steer and added suspension stress. Also I think they are lug centered where GM used hub centered. My 2 cents.

Jim,

I am seeing quite a few facebook posts on people buying, installing and really liking the 16" ION wheel. These owners I don't think have many miles yet among them, but it looks to be a pretty good looking decent choice, and unless I see a failure or unforeseen issue I believe 5 of those will be on the rear of my coach next year. The complaint as stated above are they are not Hub centered, and they are lug centered. That is not how GMC had the coach setup, but there are many that run Lug centered rims for thousands and thousands of miles without a wheel falling off.

as I understand the 17" has a lower weight rating, but for your 23' that should not be a concern. I am not sure what that lower rate rating is on the 17" to see if it is really a concern for us 26' coaches. I personally like more tire with our coaches, then rim, so I personally have no desire for the 17".
