I got a renewal notice from the FMCA for Roadside Assistance. I called their 888 number and got the following 'We cannot renew for anything over 15 years old.' So save your money. I told the towing company in the Knoxville area a couple months ago to call them and see what compensation they'd give. Never heard back, never got a bill, I figure the 70 bux I paid them for last year was worth it. I'll save it for this year.
So far, I've not been able to find the RV assist service on the Allstate site. I have doubts about anyone who offers a service but can't tell you how to buy it. However, given Ken H's success with them, I'll probably pursue it. Maybe the local Allstate insurance agent has a clue.
I'll note that in the 60s my father the Judge said Farm Bureau and Allstate ended up in his courtroom much more often than any of the underwriters, Personal experience bears this out. It took 3 years to get them in court on a case where their insured ran a red light and was observed by a deputy and two EMTs who were at the intersection. For a quick closure, I offered retail value of the ruined car and hospital bills, which they declined. They ended up in North Georgia ready to go to court in a small town, at which point they settled for three times the original amount plus my legal costs.
