Our 77/94 Clasco had a very useful setup that you might find beneficial. Inside the electrical door on the side of the coach Jim Bounds (then Production Manager for Clasco) designed a 30 amp spring loaded cord reel with a 50 amp female plug in the center. Also in that same space was a female 50 amp plug coming from the generator. A short 50 amp male pigtail connected to the electrical box for power coming into the coach.
That gave you three ways to bring power into the coach. You could use a 50 amp extension cord from the RV power post to that pigtail, or you could use the 30 amp spring loaded cord reel by plugging the pig tail into the center recepticle on that hose reel, or you could plug the pig tail into the gen socket. Slick and it covered all the alternatives safely and easily. No one size fits all required.

It appears that most of the replies I am getting is that I should change to a 30 amp cable.
I am not interested in doing that. I am merely trying to find an original cable which is actually a 40 amp cable.
Even though the plug is the same as a 50 amp, the cable is marked as a 40 amp.
