Any thermostat will work. All it needs to do is connect the two wires together and the furnace will come on. You can do it manually by just touching those two wires together or via a metallic spring inside a simple thermostat or via a battery operated electronic thermostat with timers and set backs, etc.

I?m reading this thread, and I?m wondering what is wrong with a heat-only
replacement Suburban thermostat? $15 on Amazon.

I aet mine on about 40 F when the coach is parked here. It's powered all the time. Keep propanein it, and open all the cabinets and drawers, cover the side went for the icebox. Keeps the wasser from freezing.

Agree that most any will work. However you should avoid any mercury switch types in an RV that moves.
