Larry,

When all mechanical and electrical troubleshooting fails to define/solve the
problem, my experience is that the electronic control board has to be
replaced. This is after confirming that the fuel solenoid valve
energizes/de-energizes properly, the fuel/air tubing is clear, igniter is
working, fire tube is clear, etc. You may be able to find a YouTube
diagnostic on the internet for the heater. I have not had a failure since
the inception of You Tube, so I have had no occasion to search.

I've got a 6 gal Atwood LP hot water heater. I turn it on and it lights and
runs for about 5 seconds. Shuts off for 3-4 seconds and restarts. Does
this maybe 5 times and stops. Gotta turn it off and it will do it all over
again. Sometimes during this cycle it will lite and stay lit for the
duration. Sometimes it will light during one of the cycles and after 5
minutes of burning it will shut off and not relight. I have cleaned off the
igniter, and that did not work. What does the collective intelligence think
I should do next?
