In the two years that I have been part of this exchange, I have continually impressed with the amount of knowledge transferred and how freely it is given.

When I located a "barn find" with 18,000 miles in Dumas, TX, I expected that after much work and expense my wife and I would enjoy several years (I will be 80 in February) of traveling in our stunning vehicle. Unfortunately the GMC is about ready to go but my wife is unable to travel in her. So my task is to find a good home for her (the GMC, not my wife). I know that I will not come close to recovering the $42,000 and many hours that I have invested. My request of you is for input on how much I should ask for her when I advertise the sale.

I've replaced: headlamps, clearance lights, water pump, radiator hoses, oil cooler lines, steering stabilizer, steering gear, drive belts, exhaust system (with s.s.), front calipers and hoses, rear wheel cylinders and hoses, master cylinder and vacuum booster, six shocks, rubber fuel lines, batteries, seven tires, parking brake cable, four rear hub seals, fresh water tank and sending unit, fuel pump, all fluids, fan clutch, and heater hoses. Re-build or recondition: fuel tank, radiator, steering pump, and carburetor.

Interior: re-upholster cockpit seats, dinette seats, and divan/bunk bed; replace floor, cockpit carpet, headliner, and dinette wall panel.

Thanks for any adivse you offer, Bill Matheson wmatheson1@outlook.com
