One great use I found for ours was powering 12vdc gallery lights that hung from two connectors before the advent of led spots in that form factor. The old buzz box was very tolerant of amp draws above its rated output. With the newer high powered led spots the amp draw is so low just about any power supply will do. Alas the buzz box went to that great home in the sky.

I think most people after removal attach them to a chain and attach the other end of the chain to their boat.
