Putting a new pressor switch in because it's in the engine area. It maybe bad. And I don't like the compressor there either. Shouldn't be a big deal to move both inside. Haven't really checked that idea out yet. But I'm sure someone here has. Bob Dunahugh

Wassa matter with it being up front opf the driver's side wheel well? If the liners are out you can put some med flap baffles around it. I'd move the 26' one up front except I* don't want all that much air line.

Noise - it's bad enough outside. Will be unacceptable if inside.

The shock mounted ViAir in the 23' wasn't noisy at all although the Firestone one it replaced sure was. I assume you have a PowerLevel. If so, and someone hasn't already, put a set of J R Slaten's valves in.

We've had 3 - 78 Royales. All had the compressors inside. Had to really listen to know that they were running or not. Mine never run. Except at camp sites for leveling. What year did GM put them inside. 75? I checked the on/off pressure switch today. Works. But sure is crusty looking. I'm changing it no mater where it's at. And the air filter on the compressor is gone. Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

The suspension air pump was in the front for all of the PowerLevel coaches. It came inside with the solenoid valve set for the ElectroLevel that I think started with 75 model year, but I am not sure.

my 75 has the pump up front. 77 eleganza 2, it is back in the closet.

I see no reason to spend the time and money moving it. Mine stays plenty clean and I do no run wheel well liners. I also put a T on it, and use it to inflate tires and kits toys easily. I like having that spot in the cabinet for a little more storage, even though it is only about a cubic foot.

There is only one advantage to having the compressor and tank and solenoids
inside the coach. They are out of the weather. But a downside to the
Powerlevel located amidships would be the additional amounts of air lines
running back and forth to the valves in the dash. The Electrolevel I has
only wires running back and forth, that is why it is located amidships.
Same for the EL II.

My '76 Eleganza II has the Electro I fitted, compressor and valves amidships. I think it's a mid - early '76 model, kater in the year I've seen them with ElecroLevel II.
