Upon returning from the rally in Tucson in May, I discovered one of my rear wheel studs had sheared.
Went and retorqued all my wheels (150ft-lbs). While doing that the stud located next to my bad stud broke also.
Removed brake drum with faceplate.
Was able to remove only one of the bolts holding the face plate to the drum using an impact wrench.
Have had it soaking with ATF:acetone
mixture for several weeks while away visiting grandchildren. Still no luck getting the other 7 bolts out.
Any tips on the bolt removal and driving out the sheared studs?

Use the spare tire. Take the spare and set it on the ground so the Lug holes / Dome is up. Put the offending drum and hub in facing down. Now you have a flat surface with some weight holding the drum and hub securely. Put on the socket and breaker bar. Install 5-6 foot pipe on end of breaker bar for a cheater. If the tire starts to spin, lash that to a large tree/post with a good sized ratchet strap. Preferably out of view of the neighbors.

Once the hub is free of the drum a bit of heat and a big hammer may help to persuade the stud to come out.

I forget who told me about the upside down spare tire deal, but I have used that a few times with good results. Your ahead of the game by hosing everything down with the ATF mix. Hopefully the cheater pipe will break them loose, thats all you need it for. Then hit them with the impact to finish them off. Knock on wood, I did not need to go larger than 1/2 inch drive on the breaker bar and 6 point socket.

Once the bolts are out you may need to tap the drum a few times to get it to separate from the hub. After 40 years mine needed some convincing with a carefully placed 3 foot pry bar. Anti seize is your friend when they go back together.

Wayne,
Utilized your recommendation on the cheater bar and it worked well. Used a tie down strap attached to a column in the shop.
Drove the studs out with a 2 lb hammer.
Mr Burton was helpful with some tips also.

I have replaced a number of rear brake drums when installing disc brake
conversions, and also replaced a number of broken wheel studs. I haven't
ever encountered brake drum bolts that my good ingersoll rand pneumatic
impact wrench wouldn't take out. That leaves the wheel studs exposed so
they can be either pressed or hammered out. They do not screw into the hub,
but are pressed into it. With tons of pressure. Takes tons of pressure to
remove them as well.
