Hi John,

I chuckled when I read your response here. While you are correct, your post also perfectly explains why none of us should put up with a decades old carb design trying to burn today’s gasoline that is designed to atomized only when squired through the small hole of a fuel injector under high pressure!

Sorry to be late with this response, we are at a FMCA regional rally in Coos Bay, OR where there is no T-Mobile service leading to some nasty “you are using too much roaming data” messages from ATT and a badly overwhelmed RV park wi-if service trying to keep up with all these big coaches and their multiple device tethering gizmos all trying to stream video all day long.

Jim Hupy-- going back a few responses-- the spring on the secodary air valve trys to CLOSE it. The air flow on the wider side of the air valve wants
to open it wide. The spring combined with the vacuum pot want to close it. The dropping vacuum is timed via an orifice in the vac pot to limit opening
speed. Rod height (enrichment) is a function of mechanical cam action based on air valve degrees rotation. To adjust air valve there is a wind up
spring and locking screw to adjust spring tension. A larger orifice hole will also speed opening. Faster is not better though.
