Rob. Thanks for this new thread. Helps in getting better understanding to viewers here. The OEM drawing does a good job to show the centerline of the rim to the centerline of the bearing. Bob Dunahugh

No matter how it's put. The 1 ton has some issues that the original GM design doesn't have. An original, well maintained system will just handle better. The original didn't have a bearing problems. It's was the bore that the bearing went into. Jim K at Applied, and Dave Lenzi have on hand the parts to fix that issue. For good. And then that original bearing can be greased without ever removing that bearing again. Just put a grease gun to it every 75,000, to 100,000 miles. I like the idea with the 1 ton. That instead of greasing the bearing. You just change it out. It's not a forever bearing. I just don't care for some of the issues that come with the 1 ton. It doesn't fallow SAE standards. This is what owns need to understand. Then pick what you think is best for your GMC. Bob Dunahugh
