I know that someone has made a filter from an auto parts store work by fitting a cover on the bottom and possibly lengthening (or shortening) the center rod.
Could you please let me know what filter you used for this?

Thank you

I bought a filter from lowes that fit. I am not sure what it was for, so sort of tractor they sell. It is the same length and diamator just had to drill a hole in the plastic end for the rod.

Gene has a note for a K&N filter, although I just go down the street to pick up a regular filter from Jim K. at Applied GMC!!

I have bought some stainless steel threaded rod, wing nuts and washers and hope to fit a off the shelf Napa filter to mine on Wednesday. I'll post more details later it's done.

My thanks to Mike Hamm. I went to Lowes and found an exact fit for the Onan filter.
Look for a bright yellow filter as it came with a yellow foam outer wrap that can be removed for cleaning.

It is labeled as a Briggs & Stratton Air Filter/Precleaner.
It is part number 793569/793685.
The UPC code on the package is 0 2484761889 1.

The price was approx. $18.

It fit right in with no modification to the rod. I used a larger fender washer on the bottom as the bottom was fiber instead of steel.
I had to drill a hole into the center of the bottom for the rod.

KIM please include this part in the GMCMI Parts Interchange booklet.

For those that do not want to look around, we stock the correct Onan parts .
For some, they rather order a correct part and pay more than horse around.
Nothing wrong trying to save funds.
If you go to our site, you might learn that there are few accessories that
can improve your Onan and your coach. www.appliedgmc.com

Yes, Jim Kanomata (Applied GMC) stocks most of what we need for our GMCs and when we buy from him we know it wit fit and is the right part.
I did not buy it from Lowe’s to save money but I needed it the same day so that I could replace it and use my GMC the next day. My Onan was starving for air as I had been neglecting to change the filter and I was planning on using the Onan for dry camping.
