I found the lower mount busted on my coach, Tom McManus was kind enough to supply a pair off a parts coach for postage. When I put one on at Bean Station, I noticed, the frame wasn't totally flat under it... and this turned out to be the case on the other side of the coach. Both shock mounts didn't touch the frame all across their length. I shimmed the end so tightening the shock mount and attach bolts wouldn't stress the casting. Maybe what I should have done was to take a heavy hammer and whale the hell out of the side of the frame right at the shock mount bolt. I suspect the frame side has pulled out slightly from years and miles of stress from the shock's downward load. If the upper end of the lower mount casting isn't touching the frame side, something's bent a bit. Don't try to pull the mount down with its bolts, you'll bend it and stress it and it will eventually break.
