Something looks fishy here. Who steals a GMC and a horse trailer? Insurance claim, or something else? I do not know. I just do not like the looks of this.

Horse trailers are eminently stealable and sellable. As to the GMC, I side with the ex - an inside job. The average crook isn't aware of what to do with a GMC.

Depends on the divorce settlement as to who owns it. If it wasn't mentioned, and it's registered to him, he's stolen nothing.

And, that being said, if I lived anyplace close I'd fade by Ex's place and do a little research and see if he's got either or both stashed someplace. And if so, drop the dime and get the thou.
