So we've had a Ragusa step on our rig for about 3 months now. We have a used main step (bolted to rig) with new flip up step. Walked out of the camper yesterday and broke the flip step clean off. It broke right on the pivot where the pin is attached. Now I'm not a large man 6'1" 185lbs. I can promise that the step hasn't beaten on or abused. Is this the normal life span of the folding piece? If so the price does not reflect the longevity of these pieces. I'm hoping we are one the few rare cases where the cast faulty. Thanks

Pretty sure Ragusa will replace it under warranty. Our coach came to us with one of those on it and after nearly nine years of extensive use, the only thing I have had to do to it is drive the pivot pins back in a couple of times. My guess is that this is a one off, fluke failure. Maybe a casting flaw. I wouldn't worry about a replacement ever having this kind of problem.

I believe your case w/ Ragusa step to be highly unusual. If bought from Ragusa - I would have a call w/ them.
I have 3 coaches rite now and have sold 2 in the past 3 years. If they did not have Ragusa's when purchased, I immediately put them on and have never had a problem.
I believe them to be a quality supplier and believe they would assist you.

Jim,

I totally agree with Mike. Your experience is not the norm. Every Ragusta
accessory I’ve ever seen was the cream of the crop, highest quality
casting, superb designs and well engineered. I’d contact the supplier
immediately, as there must have been a rare manufacturing flaw.

What probably happened is that the pin must have slipped out a little and
applyed the force on half or the casting.
That is what happens majority of the time, but Ragusa will handle it to
your satisfaction.
If you aquired that from us We will send you a new one N/c and pay for
shipping the damaged one to Rausa.
If you purchased it elsewhere, you'll end up paying the return.
