I think most of us GMC'ers in the Houston area are on the northern subuarbs. We have severe flooding, but not as bad as metro Houston and south.
For now we are ok(as far house flooding goes). The Houston airport will open tomorrow, so that means we should be getting past the worst.
Once the storm surge subsides, Houston can start to drain with less resistance.
But with Mother Nature, things change by the minute.
Good luck to all....

Rick,
If you end up in Houston instead of Elkhart, let me know if you need any help.
We were plannning to go to Elkhart, but that could change. Depending on conditions.
But Houston is very good at dealing with the aftermath. And they have had lots of experience with that.
Be wary of shady contractors, they slither out of their holes after tragedies like these.
Scott.

Scott,
Thanks. They've heard from their regular contractor, so they are in the
queue. Their flooding was much less than expected--barring additional
floods tomorrow, I may not have to go down there. It's hard to imagine how
they flooded about this bad in the 7-8"-of-rain Tax Day Flood, with 25" of
rain in two days. After that flood, they installed ceramic tile flooring,
which makes it easier. The damage across the city is, of course, vastly
worse this time.
