I was an aircraft technician not an engineer so I'm innocent!
Plus I reckon the door light isn't a safety of flight item as long as you make sure the door is closed.
Since the light hasn't worked for a while and you haven't reported anyone falling out of your GMC I reckon you're good to go with
the bulb removed!

Thanks Rob.
The last time I swapped out bulbs, it cost us a 6 hour delay...how the heck was I suppose to know the bulbs in the eng bleed valve
switch were part of the switch. It just crumbled!! Just glad there were no witnesses ........ jammed it back into the overhead
panel, called maintenance, and blamed it on the previous crew!!
Damn engineers........!!
