Figured it out. Got the left panel off with no damage. Drilled the pop rivets out at the bottom. Wormed the panel with my propane torch to the point that it was too hot to touch. But not burn the paint. Started at the edge with a stiff putty knife. Then moved slowly to the rear. Warming/lifting as I went. Might as well pull the right side off now

Blow out a rear tire. And this panel is what gets destroyed. The ones on our 78 GMC convertible are both great. Looks fairly simple to remove. Anyone ever removed the entire panel?
